Dave Pflieger, CEO of Air Pacific, recently headed up a new website launch that contributes to the airline’s rebranding efforts. In 2013, Air Pacific, which is Fiji’s national airline, will relaunch as Fiji Airways. A website, located at www.fijiairways.com, previews the new look, message, and brand for the airline. The Fiji Airways brand will focus on promoting Fiji as an excellent destination for tourists seeking a tropical getaway. To assist with the new identity, Pflieger purchased three new Airbus 330 airplanes that will bear the new name and traditional indigenous designs from Fiji.
The new website replaces the generic look of the old Air Pacific site with Fiji-specific visuals and sweeping views of island vistas. A “Discover Fiji” section highlights the excellent recreational opportunities available in the island nation while explaining the differences between the country’s various regions. The Fiji Airways site entices visitors with descriptions of ocean sports, jungle kayaking, and mountain climbing. It also includes sections on golf, spas, and local dining options. The new brand identity will help Pflieger, who also serves as the chairman of Fiji’s tourism board, to introduce new visitors to the wonders of Fiji.
